Cremorne Point

A whole-home refresh built around one exceptional piece of joinery.

The brief covered two new bathrooms, a full internal colour and paint scheme, new carpeting, and a walk-in robe — but the heart of this project is the custom dining room joinery, designed to the millimetre for a client with an extraordinary collection of crystal, dinnerware and silverware passed down through her family.

The inspiration came from her childhood home, where her mother had commissioned custom joinery to house the very same collection. We measured and catalogued every piece — down to the last glass — before designing a wall unit built specifically to hold them, arranged to display each item exactly as she remembered.

The result reads as a timeless piece of furniture rather than built-in storage: a coloured, felt-lined interior for the silverware, plates set on display for both beauty and easy access, and glass shelving lit to showcase her Lalique crystal like a private gallery.

A project about honouring a family history — and making sure it had a home worthy of it.
